Frictional Games reveals gameplay for upcoming sci-fi horror Ontos

Frictional Games, the developers behind SOMA and Amnesia: The Dark Descent, has released extended gameplay footage for their upcoming sci-fi philosophical horror title, Ontos. Set in the Samsara, a former lunar hotel, the game follows protagonist Aditi Amani as she explores the facility and encounters various scientific experiments.

The footage highlights a specific sequence involving Dr. Crombie, a scientist who attempted to transfer his psyche into a server powered by a mass of rats. Players will face moral dilemmas regarding how to interact with such entities, with choices that carry tangible consequences for the narrative and the characters involved.

Ontos is currently in development and is scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2027.
