Frida Elena Flores Chávez wins bronze at Pan American Youth Karate Championship

Frida Elena Flores Chávez, a karateka from Sonora, Mexico, won a bronze medal at the 35th Pan American Youth Championship held in Cartago, Costa Rica. Competing in the U12 category within the 42-kilogram division, Flores Chávez secured third place after defeating a competitor from Venezuela with a score of 10-2.

Flores Chávez's achievement contributed to Mexico's overall performance in the tournament, where the national team earned a total of 13 medals, including five gold, two silver, and six bronze. The podium for her division featured competitors from Chile, who took gold and silver, and Peru, who shared the podium with Flores Chávez.

The championship hosted over 1,500 competitors from 25 American countries across various age categories, including U12, U14, Cadets, and Youth. The Sonora delegation was represented by eight athletes during the event.
