Frida Karlsson named honorary citizen of Val di Fiemme

Swedish cross-country skier Frida Karlsson has been named an honorary citizen of Val di Fiemme, Italy. The recognition was announced during a press conference with the Swedish Ski Association.

Representatives from the Italian ski resort expressed their admiration for Karlsson’s achievements in the region, specifically citing her performances during the Tour de Ski and the Milano Cortina Olympics. The delegation noted that her high-quality performances make her an ideal figure to help attract Swedish tourists to the area, expressing hope that she might become a full-time ambassador in the future.

Karlsson, who has spent significant time training in northern Italy, described the honor as a surprise. She noted that while she knew an award was coming, she was unaware of the specific nature of the distinction.
