Frida Karlsson pursues new legal action over ongoing stalking
Swedish Olympic cross-country skier Frida Karlsson is taking new legal action after a man allegedly continued to harass her despite an existing restraining order.
The 27-year-old athlete has been targeted by a 66-year-old man for several years. Between October 2023 and February 2025, the individual reportedly followed her to her home in Östersund and even tracked her to a training camp in Tenerife. During police interrogations, the man reportedly claimed to be in a romantic relationship with Karlsson. Records indicate he made over 200 phone calls and sent more than 200 messages without receiving a response.
Although a court issued a restraining order and a suspended sentence in April 2025, Karlsson’s mother, Mia Karlsson, stated that the man has continued to call and message her daughter. Karlsson previously testified in the Ångermanland District Court that the harassment made her feel unsafe in her own home.
