Fridays For Future to hold climate strike in Genoa

The Fridays For Future movement, alongside various civic organizations, will hold a climate strike demonstration in Genoa on Friday, October 16. The event is scheduled to take place in Largo Eros Lanfranco, in front of the Prefecture, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

The initiative aims to bring the climate crisis back to the center of public attention and support national mobilization efforts. Organizers cited extreme weather events that impacted the Liguria region during the summer as a primary motivation for the protest. The demonstration seeks to demand that national and international climate commitments be translated into more effective actions.

Promoted by Cittadini Sostenibili, Fridays For Future, and Non Solo Parole Genova, the event has received support from several environmental and social groups, including Greenpeace, Legambiente, and Ultima Generazione. To maintain independence, organizers have stated they will exclude political party logos, electoral lists, and commercial sponsors from the gathering.
