Friedkin Group considers new investors for Everton
The Friedkin Group, which also owns AS Roma, is reportedly exploring the possibility of bringing in new investors for the English Premier League club Everton. According to reports from the Financial Times, the American ownership group is working with advisors to evaluate a potential sale of a significant stake in the Liverpool-based club.
The process is currently in its initial stages, and there is no guarantee that discussions will result in a formal agreement. The objective is not a full sale of the club, but rather to find one or more partners to share capital and risk for future investments. This model of shared ownership is becoming increasingly common in top-tier football to manage rising squad costs and club valuations.
The Friedkin Group completed its acquisition of Everton on December 19, 2024, through Roundhouse Capital Holdings, taking over the controlling interest previously held by Farhad Moshiri for approximately £331 million. Since taking control, the group has focused on financial stabilization and reducing the club's debt.
