Friedrich Merz selects Mercedes-Benz S 680 Guard as official vehicle

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz uses a Mercedes-Benz S 680 Guard as his official state vehicle. The vehicle was selected from two German models capable of meeting high security requirements, the other being the BMW 7-series Protection.

The Mercedes serves as a mobile security bunker, meeting the VR10 resistance class and VPAM ERV standards. This provides the Chancellor with protection against explosions and gunfire.
