Friedrichroda hotel evacuated following kitchen fire

A mountain hotel in Friedrichroda was evacuated on Friday afternoon following a fire in the kitchen. Approximately 600 guests were forced to leave the building and gather at a designated assembly point at a nearby sports field.

Due to persistent rain during the evacuation, hotel management provided bath towels to guests for protection and distributed fruit and drinks. Because the kitchen was unusable, guests were transported via buses to the Ahorn-Hotel in Oberhof for meals. Following the intervention of local fire departments, guests were able to return to the hotel around 9:00 PM.
