Friends cast declines Netflix documentary on Matthew Perry

The main cast of the sitcom ‘Friends’ has declined to participate in the upcoming Netflix docuseries ‘The One About Matthew Perry’. Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer were reportedly approached for the project but opted not to be involved.

Sources indicate that the decision was driven by a desire to preserve privacy and avoid the emotional difficulty of revisiting the loss of their colleague. Jennifer Aniston specifically reportedly declined because she did not wish to publicly relive the trauma or express her grief on camera.

Directed by Mary Robertson, the three-part series is scheduled to premiere on October 27. While the primary cast will be absent, the documentary will feature interviews with other friends and colleagues, as well as new testimony from the actor’s sister, Mia Perry Bowick, to explore Perry’s life, career, and personal struggles.
