Friends & Family Flea debuts in Los Angeles Koreatown

The Friends & Family Flea, a new market organized by the creators of Maum Market, is making its debut in Los Angeles’s Koreatown. Organizers Arnold Byun and Kioh Park described the launch as a homecoming, noting that the origins of their previous venture, Maum Market, were deeply rooted in the district.

The inaugural event features 24 vendors, many of whom have personal or professional ties to the neighborhood. The market aims to highlight essential community businesses beyond just the restaurant industry, including apparel brands, artists, jewelry makers, and wellness businesses.

Attendees can find a variety of goods such as salt bread, tea, handmade candles, soaps, and vintage clothing. The event also includes activities like flash tattoos, food from Love Hour, and educational sessions on hwatu, a traditional Korean card game, hosted by the LA Hwatu-Hanafuda Club.
