Friends of the Everglades files lawsuit against state and federal governments

Friends of the Everglades, alongside Earthjustice and the Center for Biological Diversity, has filed an updated lawsuit against state and federal governments regarding the “Alligator Alcatraz” detention facility in the Everglades.

The plaintiffs allege that government defendants withheld critical information from the courts last summer, specifically regarding Florida’s application for federal funding. They claim this lack of transparency delayed justice and allowed continued harm to the Everglades ecosystem for a year.
