Friends plan memorial for Sloane Grodnick following New Jersey murder-suicide
Friends of Sloane Grodnick, a 24-year-old artist, have launched a GoFundMe campaign to establish a memorial tree and plaque at Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, New Jersey. The tribute aims to honor Grodnick in an environment that reflects her passion for art.
Grodnick was killed alongside her mother, Lora Grodnick, 62, in their Montgomery Township home. Prosecutors state that David Grodnick, 61, an insurance and real estate executive, shot both women before turning the gun on himself.
Grodnick was a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design and was pursuing a master’s degree at the Rhode Island School of Design at the time of her death. The memorial at the 42-acre nonprofit sculpture park and arboretum is intended to provide a lasting place for those who knew her to visit and remember her life.
