Friesland and Groningen unveil weekend activities for August 12‑13

In Friesland, a charity bike ride departs from Damwâld, an autocross takes place in Bantega, and the UNBROKEN exhibition runs at the Princessehof. The Dokkum year market opens on Friday, featuring stalls on De Zijl, Suupmarkt, Diepswal and Koornmarkt, with a musical closing by the band Progress. A free concert on the historic Müller organ at Leeuwarden’s Grote Kerk is performed by organist Peter van der Zwaag. The Open Stal art route in Oldeberkoop showcases works by over forty artists across a 3.5‑km trail.

In Groningen, Zoutkamp hosts a vintage truck show with the Vrije Truckers and food trucks. The historic harvest festival at Borg Verhildersum in Leens offers crafts, music and dance. Dinopark Tennax in Wedde presents a roof‑bird show with falcons, owls and eagles. An open‑air flea market and trunk‑sale event launches on a local track, offering vintage goods and antiques.
