Friesland Championship sees victories for Terpstra and Westert

The Friesland Championship for fierljeppen (canal pole vaulting) took place in Winsum, featuring several notable victories across different categories.

In the men's competition, Germ Terpstra secured his victory with a winning jump of 21.57 meters. Despite the win, Terpstra expressed critical views regarding his technique, noting he felt he had placed the pole too far to the right and needed to improve his jump. In the women's category, Hanneke Westert claimed the title with a final jump of 16.91 meters, surpassing Sanne Bouwstra's distance of 15.46 meters.

In the girls' division, Nina van der Vliet won the Friesland title, followed by clubmate Yrsa Maats in second place. The Van der Vliet family saw significant success, as Nina's brother, Jari van der Vliet, had won the youth championship for boys aged 8 to 10 just one week prior.
