Frieze London art fairs attract 95,000 visitors
The 2026 editions of Frieze London and Frieze Masters concluded at Regent’s Park, drawing 95,000 visitors from 108 countries and representing 426 institutions. The event featured 318 galleries and highlighted a selective market characterized by “pockets of heat,” where high demand was concentrated on rare works, established artists, and strong curatorial presentations.
In the Frieze Masters segment, a significant sale occurred when Hauser & Wirth sold a Jan Brueghel the Elder still life from approximately 1607–1608 for roughly £5 million (US$ 6.6 million). Other notable transactions included works by Alice Neel, Henry Moore, and Jean Dubuffet. In the contemporary sector, David Zwirner recorded sales for artists such as Michaël Borremans and Dana Schutz.
The Mexican gallery LLANO participated in the Focus section, showcasing the work of Giovanni Fabián Guerrero. Guerrero’s art, which explores Purépecha roots and the history of the Cherán community in Michoacán, was presented to an international market seeking works with deep research and cultural significance.
