Frisco, Texas, ranked as top U.S. real estate market by WalletHub

A WalletHub analysis of 300 U.S. cities has identified the best real estate markets based on 17 indicators of housing market appeal and economic vitality. The study evaluated metrics including home-value forecasts, price appreciation, affordability, job growth, and the availability of newer construction.

In the midsize city category, Frisco, Texas, ranked first with an overall score of 70.72. The city is noted for having a high proportion of homes built between 2010 and 2024 and strong job growth. McKinney, Texas, took second place, followed by Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Other high-ranking midsize cities include Durham, Denton, and Cary, North Carolina.

For large cities with populations exceeding 300,000, Charlotte, North Carolina, led the rankings, followed by Irvine, California, and Raleigh, North Carolina. In the small-city group, Allen, Texas, ranked first.

WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo noted that determining market health requires looking beyond current home prices to include factors such as cost of living, potential for value increases, and the quality of the local job market.
