FRITZ!Box router management and WAN port configuration
Users of AVM FRITZ!Box routers can access the device interface and optimize network settings through specific configurations. The default local IP address for many models is 192.168.178.1, which serves as the gateway for managing internet access, WLAN settings, and connected devices.
Additionally, the blue WAN port on many FRITZ!Box models can be repurposed. While typically used for external modems, AVM has indicated that users can configure the WAN port to function as a fifth LAN port via the FRITZ!OS interface. This is achieved by navigating to 'Home Network' then 'Network' and selecting the 'Use WAN as LAN' option, provided the specific model supports the feature.
