Friuli Venezia Giulia allocates 1 million euros for Christmas cultural events

The regional government of Friuli Venezia Giulia has approved a 1 million euro fund to support municipalities in organizing cultural programming for the 2026 Christmas holiday season. The initiative, proposed by Vice Governor and Councilor for Culture and Sport Mario Anzil, aims to promote high-quality cultural offerings and support local operators.

Municipalities can apply for grants covering up to 80% of eligible expenses, with a minimum grant of 5,000 euros. Funding limits vary based on population size, ranging from 6,000 euros for towns with up to 3,000 inhabitants to 100,000 euros for larger municipalities. Applications must be submitted online via the IstanzeOnLine platform between September 16 and October 30, 2026.

Eligible projects include theatrical performances, concerts, dance shows, folkloric events, historical reenactments, film screenings, and exhibitions in fine arts, photography, or multimedia. The fund specifically excludes projects consisting solely of holiday lights or decorations that lack clear cultural content. Events must take place between November 25, 2026, and January 30, 2027.
