Friuli Venezia Giulia debates new short-term rental regulations
Regional authorities in Friuli Venezia Giulia are debating new regulations for short-term rentals to address their impact on the local housing market and tourism sectors. Regional Councilor Giulia Massolino has called on the regional government to accelerate the operational status of the Tourism Observatory. She argues that a solid knowledge base is essential to distinguish between different territorial needs and to implement effective tools with defined deadlines and periodic data publication.
Regional Councilor for Productive Activities and Tourism, Sergio Emidio Bini, stated that before introducing legislative changes, a precise mapping of the regional situation is required. Bini emphasized the need to avoid generalized interventions that could negatively affect small towns and mountain locations. He noted that the National Identification Code (Cin) is helping to increase transparency and identify previously unrecorded activities, providing a more comprehensive view of the sector's rapid expansion.
