Friuli Venezia Giulia investigates €3 million Bocelli concert spending
An investigation has been launched into the use of public funds for an Andrea Bocelli concert held on May 7 in Gemona del Friuli. The event, organized to support earthquake relief in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, reportedly cost taxpayers approximately three million euros.
Following inquiries and access to official documents, the Democratic Party (Pd) has filed reports with the National Anti-Corruption Authority (ANAC) and the regional Prosecutor of the Court of Auditors (Corte dei Conti). The investigation focuses on the negotiated procedure used to organize the concert without a public tender. The Court of Auditors has opened a file on the matter and delegated the Guardia di Finanza to conduct investigations.
Diego Moretti, the Pd group leader in the regional council, criticized Regional President Massimiliano Fedriga for his silence on the matter, accusing him of demagoguery and failing to provide transparency regarding the expenditure. Moretti argued that spending such significant public resources on a single event is ethically and factually unacceptable.
