Friuli Venezia Giulia regional funds for Palasport Carnera stalled

Massimo Moretuzzo, leader of the Patto per l'Autonomia-Civica FVG group, has criticized the Friuli Venezia Giulia regional administration regarding 20 million euros in frozen funds intended for the Palasport Carnera in Udine.

Moretuzzo filed an immediate response inquiry to determine the fate of the financing, which was originally tied to a project financing scheme that has since reached a standstill. He noted that project proposals have shifted multiple times, ranging from the renovation of the existing facility to the construction of a new structure near the Fair area.

Moretuzzo characterized the situation as a failure of public resource management, stating that the funds have remained stagnant for years while critical infrastructure needs persist. He urged the regional government to release these resources for other community projects in Udine, such as the Study Center and the former Slaughterhouse, if the original Carnera project is no longer viable.
