Friuli Venezia Giulia reports 27,804 active artisan businesses
The craftsmanship sector in Friuli Venezia Giulia is showing signs of stability and growth, with 27,804 active businesses reported as of March 31, 2026. This data was highlighted during the 60th anniversary ceremony of CNA FVG held in Aiello del Friuli.
Regional Councilor for Productive Activities and Tourism, Sergio Emidio Bini, emphasized that artisan businesses serve as vital territorial anchors, particularly in historic centers, villages, and mountainous internal areas where proximity services are essential. He noted that the sector acts as a counter-trend to delocalization and homogenization by maintaining local identity and quality.
Economic support for the sector has increased significantly, with funds allocated by the regional government through Cata channels rising from 4.5 million euros in 2018 to approximately 14 million euros. Additionally, one in three youth-led companies in the region operates within the artisan sector, indicating a capacity for generational renewal. Upcoming regional measures include a new call for fuel compensation funds that will also include artisan enterprises.
