Friuli Venezia Giulia to fund drone shows in provincial capitals

The Friuli Venezia Giulia Region has confirmed a subsidy of 100,000 euros for each provincial capital that chooses to organize drone shows instead of traditional fireworks displays. This measure, which will continue through 2026, aims to reduce environmental emissions and acoustic impact, specifically benefiting animals and vulnerable individuals.

Following a recent show in Trieste, the regional administration has scheduled upcoming drone events in Pordenone on September 4, Gorizia on December 18, and Udine on December 31, 2026. Regional Councilor Fabio Scoccimarro stated that the financial support is intended to make this high-cost technological alternative viable for municipalities without imposing it as a mandatory choice.
