Friulian Blood Donors Association celebrates 65‑year and 42‑year anniversaries in Udine

The Friulian Blood Donors Association (AFDS) marked its 65th anniversary in the towns of Aiello and Joannis. The day began with a mobile blood‑collection unit that received 27 donations. A mass was held at Sant’Ulderico church, followed by a procession to the Donatori di Sangue square where a tribute was laid on the AFDS monument. The celebration concluded with a dinner attended by local officials, including Mayor Roberto Festa, AFDS provincial president Manuela Nardon, and section representatives.

In parallel, the university section of the AFDS in Udine commemorated its 42nd year. University rector Angelo Montanari met with section president Roberto Piuzzo and AFDS president Manuela Nardon to acknowledge the long‑standing culture of donation among students, staff and faculty. The event highlighted the growth of the donor base since the section’s founding in 1984 and the ongoing collaboration with the Association of Bone Marrow Donors (ADMO). Both celebrations underscored the community’s commitment to voluntary blood donation in the Friuli region.
