FromSoftware's The Duskbloods faces server issues during first network test
FromSoftware’s upcoming PvPvE title, The Duskbloods, experienced significant server issues during its first closed network test on August 21, 2026. Many participants reported being unable to log in or were stuck at the main menu, prompting the studio to cancel the initial session early. FromSoftware issued an apology and stated they are working on server improvements.
The game, which is an exclusive for the Nintendo Switch 2, features up to eight players competing for Virtue Points through combat and objectives. Producer Hidetaka Miyazaki has clarified that while the studio is releasing two multiplayer titles in succession—Elden Ring: Nightreign and The Duskbloods—this does not signal a permanent shift away from single-player games. Miyazaki emphasized that the studio remains committed to single-player content and that the multiplayer focus of The Duskbloods was driven by specific design ideas, such as board game-inspired mechanics, that did not fit a single-player framework.
The Duskbloods is expected to launch by the end of 2026.
