TikTok creator Maddie Brewster documented the moment, noting that the group had spent $168 on the birthday dinner. The video shows the birthday guest receiving the lone candle, which had been melted at the base to stand upright on the ceramic plate instead of a traditional dessert like cake or ice cream.

Brewster clarified that the group did not blame their server, describing him as “so nice,” and suggested the presentation might be due to restaurant policy or dietary restrictions.
