Frontera develops new animal protection regulations and sterilization plans

The municipal government of Frontera, Coahuila, is developing a new legal framework to enhance animal protection and combat pet abandonment. Mayor Sari Pérez announced that the new regulations are currently undergoing technical review. The initiative aims to establish clear guidelines for responsible pet ownership and distinguish between truly abandoned animals and pets with irresponsible owners.

To address the issue of canine overpopulation, authorities are preparing a mass sterilization campaign, specifically targeting animals roaming public streets. The municipal strategy includes strengthening the ability to sanction violators and improving the response to citizen reports regarding animal welfare and neglect.
