Frontier Airlines expands into South America with new Colombia routes

Frontier Airlines has announced its first expansion into South America, launching direct services from Orlando International Airport to three Colombian cities. The new routes are scheduled to begin in December.

The airline will connect Orlando to Bogotá, Medellín, and Cartagena. Flights to Bogotá and Medellín are expected to operate daily, while services to Cartagena will be weekly. This expansion aims to capitalize on high demand for low-cost travel between Central Florida and Colombia, leveraging Orlando's role as a hub for Caribbean connections and serving the large Colombian diaspora.

Frontier, a Denver-based ultra-low-cost carrier, views Colombia as a strategic gateway for its South American operations. The move is intended to strengthen air connectivity between the United States and Colombia, building upon existing flight networks in the region.
