Frontier Silicon ends support for Undok WLAN-radio app
The Undok app, used to control millions of older WLAN radios, is losing functionality due to the discontinuation of support by chipset manufacturer Frontier Silicon. The issue specifically affects devices utilizing the Venice 6.5 chipset.
On iPhones running iOS 27, the Undok app fails to function entirely, closing immediately upon launch. Android users are experiencing display errors, and the app is expected to be removed from the Google Play Store. While Frontier Silicon has introduced a new app called Oktiv, it is only compatible with newer hardware.
A workaround has been identified for owners of older devices: the Teufel Remote app. Although the Berlin-based manufacturer Teufel only officially lists three of its own devices as compatible, reports indicate the app can successfully control most WLAN radios that previously relied on Undok.
