Frontier Works announces TV anime adaptation of ‘Tanuki to Kitsune’

Frontier Works has released the key visual for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of the manga series ‘Tanuki to Kitsune’ by Atamoto. The series, which has surpassed 1.35 million copies in cumulative sales, is scheduled to begin broadcasting on October 4, 2026, on the TV Tokyo network.

Animation production will be handled by Akatsuki Media Studio, a subsidiary of Akatsuki. The newly unveiled visual features the main characters, a tanuki and a fox, alongside various forest animals such as rabbits, bears, and wolves.

In conjunction with the anime announcement, a new volume of the manga, ‘Tanuki to Kitsune Yurutto 2’, is set for release on October 15, 2026. The volume will include 61 pages of newly drawn content.
