Frontieras North America advances $850 million coal conversion project in West Virginia

Frontieras North America Inc. is commercializing its patented FASForm Solid Carbon Fractionation technology, which converts coal into refined liquid fuels, hydrogen, purified solid carbon, ammonium sulfate fertilizer and sulfuric acid. The process is designed to produce multiple marketable products from a single feedstock with zero waste.

The company is developing an approximately $850 million commercial‑scale project in Mason County, West Virginia, while continuing work on its FASGEN platform for coal‑fired power generation and additional fuel and chemical production. Renewed federal support is reviving interest in the U.S. coal industry, and Frontieras aims to position itself as a leader in modernizing coal utilization and supporting related industrial supply chains.
