Frontline Wildfire Defense launches automated roof sprinkler system

Frontline Wildfire Defense has developed Defence System 2, a software-driven automated roof sprinkler system designed to protect homes from wildfires. The technology uses 24-hour monitoring software to track nearby fires.

When a fire is detected within an 11-kilometer radius, the system sends a mobile notification to the homeowner, initiating a ten-minute countdown. If no action is taken, the sprinklers activate automatically to wet the roof, gutters, and surrounding ground. This system specifically targets flying embers, which the United States Forest Service identifies as the most frequent cause of building ignition during wildfires.

Separately, in Belgium, experts are calling for political action to address extreme drought conditions. The drought is impacting meteorological, agricultural, and hydrological levels, leading to water restrictions in several municipalities and increased wildfire risks.
