Frosinone councilor challenges deputy vice president's indemnity
Pasquale Cirillo, a city and provincial councilor for Forza Italia, has submitted a formal inquiry to Frosinone’s Secretary General and Mayor Riccardo Mastrangeli regarding the legality of function indemnities for the deputy vice president of the City Council.
Cirillo argues that according to the Consolidated Law on Local Authorities (TUEL), the deputy vice president should not receive an indemnity when substituting for the president, as the role remains that of a councilor with substitute functions rather than a permanent officer of the presidency.
The technical inquiry is viewed by observers as a political move targeting Marco Ferrara, the deputy vice president from the 'Noi Moderati' party. The dispute occurs amid political tensions and a deadlock regarding the Council's presidency, with allegations that Ferrara may be obstructing a swift resolution to the leadership impasse.
