Frosinone pharmaceutical exports decline following US tariff fears

In the first half of 2026, export data for the Lazio region shows divergent trends between provinces. Frosinone has experienced a slowdown in exports, particularly within the pharmaceutical sector, which saw a 21% decline.

Analysts from Osserfare suggest this downturn is a delayed reaction to previous artificial growth. In 2025, Italian pharmaceutical companies reportedly accelerated shipments to the United States to preempt potential American tariffs, creating a statistical surge that has now resulted in a vacuum.

Despite the decline in Frosinone, the province of Latina continues to show growth. Overall, Lazio's total exports fell by 6.8% in the first six months of 2026, totaling 18 billion euros, though this remains significantly higher than 2021 levels.
