Frosinone province records 544 road accidents, 13 dead in first half of 2026

The Carabinieri Provincial Command of Frosinone reported 544 road accidents in the first six months of 2026, an increase of 34 incidents compared with the same period in 2025. The incidents resulted in 13 fatalities and 460 injuries, slightly fewer deaths but more injured people than the previous year.

The most serious crashes occurred in Sora (June 9, three dead and one injured), Anagni (Feb 22, two dead and seven injured), Sant’Elia Fiumerapido (May 28, one dead and one injured), Morolo (June 10, one dead and one injured) and Cassino (April 25, one dead). Investigations identified speeding, failure to respect right‑of‑way, lack of vehicle registration or insurance, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs as common factors. Most collisions happened during daylight hours.

Carabinieri units worked alongside local police forces, emphasizing the need for stronger preventative measures, increased patrols on high‑traffic routes and better coordination between law‑enforcement agencies to improve road safety in the province.
