Fürth wildlife enters residential areas due to drought

Ongoing drought and water scarcity in the Fürth region of Germany are driving wildlife into residential areas and gardens as animals search for food and hydration. According to the Jägerschaft Fürth Stadt und Land, dried-out ponds, ditches, and meadows have created a critical situation for local fauna.

Erich Reichert, chairman of the hunting association, noted that the current conditions are more taxing for animals than winter. While some deer and hares can meet their needs through food and dew, the disappearance of green vegetation on agricultural lands is forcing animals to travel longer distances. This increased movement has led to a rise in wildlife-related traffic accidents and has caused animals to frequently enter urban settlements in search of moisture.
