Fruit preservation techniques for freezing strawberries and bananas

Various methods for freezing fruit can extend shelf life and reduce food waste. Chocolate-covered strawberries can be stored in the freezer for approximately 2 to 3 months, though quality may degrade over time.

Bananas are effective for freezing, particularly when they are overripe or spotty, making them ideal for baking banana bread or adding to smoothies. To prevent them from clumping, it is recommended to either freeze whole peeled bananas or use a single-layer flash-freezing method for slices.

Strawberries can be preserved by freezing them in a sweetened syrup. This technique helps protect the fruit from freezer burn, maintains texture, and preserves flavor better than freezing them plain in a bag.
