Frutillar presents Creative City of Music 2026-2027 work plan

The municipality of Frutillar has officially presented its “Frutillar Creative City of Music 2026-2027” work plan. The initiative aims to strengthen collaborative efforts and establish the commune as a national and international cultural development hub.

The plan involves a network of key institutions, including the Municipality of Frutillar, the Corporación Cultural Semanas Musicales, Teatro del Lago, the Universidad de Los Lagos, the Chamber of Tourism, and the Flora Inostroza Cultural Foundation. Mayor Javier Arismendi stated that the goal is to transform the city’s international recognition into concrete benefits and sustainable opportunities for residents, using culture and music as engines for development.

Significant updates to the governance structure include the formal incorporation of the Universidad de Los Lagos into the Executive Board. Sergio Trabucco, the university’s subdirector of Art, Culture, and Heritage, noted that the institution will contribute through projects related to artistic education and heritage, utilizing its regional and international networks. Additionally, the Flora Inostroza Cultural Foundation has joined the collaborative working group.
