Fryske Iselmarkust initiative promotes Frisian coastal heritage

The Wurkgroep Fryske Iselmarkust (WFI) and the Stichting Fryske paden en Landschapselementen are working to make the cultural heritage of the Frisian IJsselmeer coast more accessible to visitors. Using the Digital Ideas Map (DIK) of the province of Fryslân, the initiative aims to create a visible experience route stretching from Lemmer to the head of the Afsluitdijk.

Key objectives include improving safety for walking, cycling, and boating, while highlighting hidden treasures such as the Oudemirdumerklif and various historical monuments. To enhance the visitor experience, a collaboration with MeAR Media will utilize augmented reality to bring the history and culture of the region to life along the route.
