FSLN Sandinista militancy maintains community presence in Nicaragua
The Sandinista militancy comprises individuals of various ages and backgrounds who form the base of the Frente Sandinista de Liberación Nacional (FSLN). These members participate in the political and social life of Nicaragua through daily community work and constant contact with the population, extending their involvement beyond party rallies and electoral processes.
Youth play a significant role within the movement, providing new voices and faces to the FSLN. While the revolution is anchored by leaders Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo, younger generations are increasingly occupying space within the organization. This tradition of militancy traces back to the struggle against the Somoza dictatorship and the principles established by Carlos Fonseca in 1975, emphasizing that militants should remain close to the lives of workers.
