FSSAI suspends two West Bengal companies over food safety violations

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has suspended the licenses of two companies, Kailash Formulation and Sanecure Water Project, located in the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. The action follows inspections that revealed serious violations of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.

During the inspection of Kailash Formulation, authorities identified significant deficiencies, including inadequate personal hygiene facilities for staff, lack of medical examination records for employees, and missing documentation such as laboratory test reports and equipment calibration records. Physical facility issues included poor lighting, peeling plaster, and improper waste management. Additionally, the company failed to provide food-grade certifications for packaging materials.

Sanecure Water Project also faced suspension due to severe hygiene failures, including inadequate pest control and large-scale pest infestations. These enforcement actions are part of a broader regulatory campaign in West Bengal to ensure compliance with food safety standards and protect public health.
