FSV Zwickau beats FC Carl Zeiss Jena 2-1 in Regionalliga opener
In the opening match of the Regionalliga Nordost, FSV Zwickau defeated FC Carl Zeiss Jena 2‑1. Philipp Harant scored the decisive goal ten minutes from time after a counter‑attack, giving Zwickau a 2‑1 lead. The victory came in the first game under new Zwickau coach Marco Grote.
In a separate Bezirksliga Nord fixture, VfR Garching won its debut against newly promoted FC Phönix München 5‑1. Player‑coach Mike Niebauer netted two goals, while his brother Dennis added a penalty. The win highlighted Garching’s strong start to the season.
