FTCCI and TGSPDCL discuss industrial power and tariff relief

The Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) held its sixth monthly stakeholder meeting with the Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) in Hyderabad to address industrial energy concerns.

Key discussions focused on mitigating production losses caused by evening peak-hour power interruptions. TGSPDCL officials agreed to consider implementing advance SMS and email alerts for scheduled outages to assist industrial planning. To improve service, TGSPDCL proposed appointing dedicated Operations Service Managers and Key Account Managers for high-tension industrial consumers to manage billing and operational grievances.

Regarding financial relief, the FTCCI requested several concessions, including an extension of the fuel surcharge collection period from 29 to 48 months, a reduction in the delayed payment surcharge from 18% to 12%, and a six-month waiver on Open Access additional surcharges. A proposed One-Time Settlement scheme for legacy surcharge dues is currently undergoing financial assessment, with an Electricity Regulatory Commission filing expected by November 30, 2026.
