Fête de la Science 2026 opens in French Polynesia
The Fête de la Science 2026 has commenced in French Polynesia with the opening of the Village de la Science at the Presidency. Representing the Economic, Social, Environmental and Cultural Council (CESEC), Marotea Vitrac attended the ceremony.
Organized by the University of French Polynesia as part of the Nārama project, the event is held in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the Delegation for Research in French Polynesia, and the High Commission of the Republic. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and the local population across the five archipelagos.
The 2026 theme, ‘Saveurs savantes’, focuses on a sensory approach to science, exploring the connections between scientific knowledge, the environment, and local realities. Key topics include the marine world, agriculture, food, biodiversity, and species interaction.
