Fátima Bernardes talks aging, anxiety and move from Jornal Nacional to entertainment

Brazilian TV presenter Fátima Bernardes, 63, discussed how she approaches the passage of time, saying she feels great, stays active and entertains thoughts of becoming a grandmother. She reflected on public reactions to a makeup‑free video and emphasized the importance of letting women age without pressure.

Bernardes also revealed that she suffered anxiety crises while deciding to leave the anchor desk of Jornal Nacional after 14 years. She described difficulty communicating her departure, a broadcast where two nurses were present due to health issues, and a night when she could not finish the program’s closing, which was taken over by her colleagues. Medical evaluation and treatment helped her regain balance, leading to her new role hosting the entertainment show Encontro.
