FTX Recovery Trust Disburses $900 Million in Fifth Creditor Payout
The FTX Recovery Trust has begun its fifth distribution round, sending roughly $900 million to eligible creditors. After this payment, total repayments to creditors approach $10 billion, with many classes receiving more than 100% of their allowed claims – some, such as convenience claims, exceeding 120% recovery.
Payments are being processed through BitGo, Kraken and Payoneer, and eligible U.S. customers reported receiving funds via Kraken. The distribution follows a series of payouts that began after the exchange filed for bankruptcy in November 2022. A recent court ruling limited the trust’s ability to pursue damages against Binance, but the trust continues to seek claw‑back claims.
The latest round marks a significant milestone in one of the largest cryptocurrency‑industry bankruptcies, moving the estate toward its final repayment phase.
