Fußach approves 27.5 million euro town center redevelopment

The municipality of Fußach has approved a 27.5 million euro project to redesign its town center, with completion targeted for 2031. The Vorarlberg state government is expected to fund approximately 20 percent of the total costs.

The development includes the construction of a new community hall at its current location and a redesigned municipal office on the Krone-Areal. The project will replace a 1971 multi-purpose hall and a 60-year-old municipal building. The new community hall is intended for shared use by the local primary school for physical education in the mornings, and by sports and cultural associations in the afternoons and evenings.

As part of the Krone-Areal development, the historic ‘Alte Stickerei’ building will be modernized. Mayor Peter Böhler Fitz stated that the project focuses on long-term municipal development and aims to create spaces suitable for special occasions, such as civil weddings, while providing infrastructure that meets the needs of local associations. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2028 following an architectural competition to finalize the usage concepts.
