Fubon Guardians defeat Taiwan Steel 9-6 in CPBL showdown

On March 31, the Fubon Guardians rallied to beat the Taiwan Steel Eagles 9-6, snapping a four‑game losing streak in the Chinese Professional Baseball League. After falling behind 5‑2 in the seventh inning, the Guardians mounted a comeback highlighted by a two‑run single from Zhang Yi and a clutch hit by Dong Zi‑en that put the team ahead. Pitcher Liu Yuyan entered the game later in the inning, and despite an early hit by the Eagles, the Guardians scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to take the lead.

The victory marked Zhang Yi’s fifth win of the season, earned while wearing a blue glove emblazoned with “勝投怪盜” (winning pitcher thief). Dong Zi‑en contributed two walks and a hit, directly driving in runs. The win also ended the Guardians’ recent slump and moved them back toward a positive trajectory in the league standings.
