FUCOA launches second season of rural culture radio plays and animations

The Foundation for Communications, Training, and Rural Culture (FUCOA) of the Chilean Ministry of Agriculture has launched the second season of ‘Radioteatros y Relatos Animados de Nuestra Tierra’. This initiative aims to preserve and promote Chile's rural and peasant culture by transforming winning stories from the ‘Historias de Nuestra Tierra’ contest into audiovisual formats.

The project features five radio plays and five animated videos based on stories from the long-running contest, which has been active since 1992. Funded by the Piñera Morel Foundation under the Cultural Donations Law, the content is designed to make intangible cultural heritage more accessible to diverse audiences.

During the launch ceremony at the National Library, officials noted that the contest reached a record number of entries this year, with approximately 7,000 works submitted. The new productions are available for free via the ‘Historias de Nuestra Tierra’ website, Radio Minagri, FUCOA’s YouTube channel, and Spotify.
