Fuel and Toothbrush Theft Rings Detained in Germany and Austria

In Frechen, Germany, police arrested a 56‑year‑old man driving a car with Dutch plates after catching him stealing fuel worth more than €500 from a petrol station on 10 July. A field test showed cocaine in his system, and his vehicle was seized. He faces charges of fuel fraud, document forgery and driving under the influence.

In Lower Austria, two Romanian men, aged 42 and 54, were apprehended after a series of thefts of electric toothbrushes and accessories valued at several thousand euros from multiple store locations between 6 and 8 July. The suspects fled in a car with Romanian plates but were stopped by police in Wilhelmsburg, where the stolen goods were recovered and the men were placed in custody.
